JRThe International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises, helping to restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing, and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. Founded in 1933 at the call of Albert Einstein, the IRC is one of the world's largest international humanitarian non-governmental organizations (INGO), at work in more than 40 countries and 29 U.S. cities helping people to survive, reclaim control of their future and strengthen their communities.

A force for humanity, IRC employees deliver lasting impact by restoring safety, dignity and hope to millions. If you're a solutions-driven, passionate change-maker, come join us in positively impacting the lives of millions of people world-wide for a better future.

The Youth Program Coordinator is a dynamic and community-driven leader responsible for coordinating, implementing, and expanding IRC Oakland’s youth programs within the Community Integration Department. This position combines program management, partnership development, and direct service delivery to ensure newcomer and refugee youth including Afghan and Spanish-speaking communities thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Acting as a primary point of contact between IRC, schools, and community partners, the Coordinator helps facilitate school enrollment, advocates for equitable access to resources, and supports smooth integration for students and families navigating complex systems.

Working closely with colleagues, educators, and local service providers, the Coordinator develops individualized support plans, conducts youth workshops, orientations, and enrichment activities, and connects participants to academic, social, and emotional supports. This role also leads efforts to strengthen community partnerships and expand programming that enhances youth engagement and family-school collaboration.

Reporting to the Community Integration Manager, the Coordinator oversees youth program operations, supervises staff, interns, and volunteers, and ensures all activities meet grant, contractual, and financial requirements. The ideal candidate is a go-getter who takes initiative, builds strong partnerships, and thrives in both leadership and hands-on service roles.
