Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Nonprofit Finance Associate for a highly respected nonprofit organization that fulfills impactful experiences for children facing critical health challenges. This full-time, direct hire hybrid position is based in Oakland, CA
, with required in-office days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Nonprofit Finance Associate plays a vital role in supporting the financial health and compliance of the organization. This position ensures accurate financial reporting, oversees transactional accounting, and partners on budgeting and data analysis. Reporting to the VP of Operations and Finance, this is a dynamic opportunity to help shape the growing finance function of a mission-driven nonprofit.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting and analysis, including variance tracking and board-facing reports
• Maintain internal controls and compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, supporting audit and tax processes
• Manage and reconcile accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll inputs, and credit card transactions
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis in coordination with department leads
• Collaborate with internal teams on reconciliation, donor reporting, and grants compliance
• Support optimization of financial workflows and accounting systems

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Proficiency in Net Suite, Greater Giving, Microsoft Excel, and nonprofit accounting systems
• Experience with audit support, Form 990 preparation, and financial reconciliations
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Collaborative and inclusive communication style, with ability to work independently
• Deep commitment to the mission of the client and working in a diverse team environment

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This position offers a salary range of $75,000–$82,000 annually, based on experience, and includes an excellent benefits package:
