JRThe International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world's worst humanitarian crises, helping to restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing, and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. Founded in 1933 at the call of Albert Einstein, the IRC is one of the world's largest international humanitarian non-governmental organizations (INGO), at work in more than 40 countries and 29 U.S. cities helping people to survive, reclaim control of their future and strengthen their communities.
A force for humanity, IRC employees deliver lasting impact by restoring safety, dignity and hope to millions. If you're a solutions-driven, passionate change-maker, come join us in positively impacting the lives of millions of people world-wide for a better future.
Over the past 40 years the International Rescue Committee has made a powerful impact in Northern California by resettling nearly 60,000 refugees across our four offices. Originally focused on reception and placement in Oakland, we now provide a range of services including resettlement and economic empowerment services, immigration, community gardening and case management for victims of trafficking. Our Economic Empowerment programming connects individuals to employment and asset-building opportunities to lead them down the path of self-sufficiency.
This is accomplished through a combination of employment services, financial education and coaching, and access to public benefits and income supports.
Our strength and success lie within our core values of Service, Accountability, Equality, and Integrity. We are strongly motivated by our clients and are dedicated to delivering high-impact and quality programs for them. We are always going above and beyond in the work we do – aspiring to be and do better.
