The Park District is hosting this recruitment to fill one (1) vacancy for a Finance Supervisor in our Payroll Department. Under direction, plans, coordinates and supervises the work of staff engaged in the accounting functions of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, purchasing, and cash receipts; and performs related duties as assigned. The hiring pools established as a result of this recruitment will be used to fill the current vacancies and any additional vacancies that may occur during the one-year life of the hiring pools.

The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.
All Areas- Performs a variety of supervisory tasks involving simple to complex governmental accounting and reporting and provides direct supervision over paraprofessional, technical, and/or clerical staff.
- Develops and interprets accounting and reporting policies and procedures and ensures compliance with Park District policies and procedures and federal, state, and locals laws, and regulations.
- Prepares and maintains procedure manuals, records, and reports.
- Monitors automated accounting/financial system and reports for accuracy, and assists user departments in the use of such systems.
- Performs required reporting and payments in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
- Supervises, trains, develops, and evaluates staff; and performs related duties as assigned.
- Plans, organizes, and directs the establishment of payroll records for employee compensation in the payroll function.
- Reviews and analyzes payroll documents for payroll processing.
- Processes and validates payments to employees.
- Processes and reconciles workers' compensation paperwork for job injury leave employees.
