Overview
Position Summary The Development Operations Manager will lead systems and operations that power our fundraising operations. This includes, but is not limited to, the process of reconciliation and reporting with Finance and Accounting, leading donor gift processing and acknowledgments, owning the tracking of annual and multi-year revenue, supporting data and grant budget requests as needed, prospecting new donors, and owning all development operations for the team.
They will also advance donor stewardship through events as needed, personalized donor acknowledgments, and managing our donor tracking and budgeting systems. This role requires exceptional writing and communication skills, strong relationship-building and stakeholder management, and very strong strategic and critical thinking skills.

Director of Development (DoD)
You have a passion for building relationships and managing financial and archival systems, and are an excellent communicator with an eye for detail. You are meticulous about accuracy and leverage systems to ensure the work you produce is accurate. You will lead on tracking restricted, general operating, institutional, and individual giving records. You enjoy building relationships across teams and with external stakeholders.

2019s giving tendencies. You are great at looking for opportunities and uncovering new prospects. You are interested in donor data such as retention, renewal, and re-engagement rates. You enjoy making data accessible to others through creating reports that help to visualize our data and making strategic recommendations based on the data. You can present complex information to a variety of stakeholders, including Board members and the C-suite.
You are comfortable problem-solving both proactively and reactively. You enjoy thinking through processes and systems and how to improve them for yourself and others. Contingency planning is a core part of your planning process. You are extremely organized and exceptional at managing many details at once and multiple deadlines. You create detailed calendars with proposal timelines, stewardship activities, and close dates.
You help facilitate and track moves management for donors and use it to triage and make strategic decisions alongside the team. You have a strong commitment to public education, equity, and social justice.
Lead Donation Tracking and Reporting
- Ensure best practice use of analytics, data, and metrics to forecast and track progress and success of fundraising goals, strategies, and tactics.
- Independently tracks millions of dollars monthly and processes, thanks, and archives all donors.
- Leads the partnership with Accounting to ensure we get a clean audit.
- Lead the maintenance of the CRM (Salesforce) and Click & Pledge (donation) platform
- Produces high-quality Salesforce reports to increase the confidence of team leadership in key fundraising metrics for multi-million dollar annual fundraising.
- Increase efficiency in development operations, including database management, gift processing, and reporting for accounting and finance.
- Lead monthly reconciliations with the Accounting team.
- Support Associate Director of Development on grant budgets, reporting, and data requests, as needed.
- Progress monitor engagement and solicitations with institutional donors and update activities in Salesforce; liaise with accounting & finance on grant budgets.
- Works closely with the Finance team to ensure we are aligned with Fundraising totals.
- Create pledge/commitment forms for all new pledges and send payment reminders.
- Process all gift donations and acknowledge donations in a timely manner.
- Keep the internal moves management tracker up to date with closed gifts so the team knows how much has been raised at any point.
