POSITION
Under minimal supervision, designs, implements, assesses, and analyzes preventative workplace wellness activities, campaigns, events, and programs for the County of Alameda (County) employees; and to perform related duties as required. DISTINGUISHING FEATURES:
This is a single position classification located in the Human Resource Services (HRS) Department in support of the County’s benefit programs. This position reports to the HRS Division Manager assigned oversight of the Employee Benefits Center (EBC). The employee in this position is responsible for engaging in a variety of technical and analytical work involved in administering complex benefit programs and/or manage the County’s Wellness Program.
The Employee Wellness Program Manager is responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the County’s Wellness Program and is distinguished from the higher-level classification of HRS Division Manager in that the latter has the complete oversight of the EBC.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications below, the ideal candidate will possess the following critical attributes:
- Demonstrates knowledge of current industry standards and trend in worksite wellness.
- Possesses knowledge of health and wellness, medical terminology, effective management and personnel supervision, and working with wellness plans and programs.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and ability to effectively develop, manage, coordinate, and evaluate wellness programs.
- Communicates clearly both written and oral formats, preparing accurate reports, policies, and correspondence while effectively presenting information to leadership, staff, and community partners.
- Exercises political astuteness and interpersonal sensitivity in navigating complex organizational and community environments, promoting collaboration, and maintaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
