CHDC seeks a visionary, collaborative Director to lead a portfolio of affordable housing initiatives across the Bay Area. The role combines strategy, relationships, and hands‑on execution—overseeing site acquisition through project close‑out while managing financing, compliance, and community partnerships. Responsibilities- Lead strategic planning, execution, and portfolio oversight of all real‑estate development projects.
- Drive acquisition, entitlement, design, financing, construction, and project close‑out.
- Manage project budgets, financial models, and secure financing through grants, loans, and tax credits.
- Represent CHDC at public meetings, hearings, and community events; lead community outreach and engagement programs.
- Collaborate with the Executive Team to develop annual acquisition goals, budgets, and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations; identify and mitigate project risks.
- Oversee staff, including Assistant Director, Senior Project Manager, Project Managers, Interns, Development Consultants, and Administrative Assistant.
- Minimum seven years’ experience in housing/real‑estate development, real‑estate finance, or planning, with at least five years in a Housing Development Project Manager role.
- Demonstrated success managing affordable housing projects under budget and on schedule.
- Strong financial background in affordable housing real‑estate finance and pro‑forma development.
- Knowledge of public entitlement, funding processes (California and federal), and construction loan closing.
- Minimum three years’ supervisory experience; excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and willingness to learn additional project‑management software.
- Background check required.
Annual compensation: $175,000–$230,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical, vision, life, AD&D, paid vacation, sick days, holidays, and a 403(b) retirement plan.
