Sr. Custodian

Overview

Under the direction of the Facilities Services Custodial Supervisor, the Sr. Custodian performs a variety of custodial/housekeeping tasks to care for, maintain, disinfect, sanitize, and preserve campus facilities. The Sr. Custodian is responsible for the upkeep of their assigned building(s) to ensure a safe and clean environment for staff and students. The Sr. Custodian may work independently or as part of a team in assigned work areas in a fast-paced environment with project deadlines and close turnarounds while maintaining a positive attitude.

The Sr. Custodian uses their own initiative and proactively addresses daily tasks to maintain a clean environment. Sr. Custodians communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, staff, faculty and students to ensure a good relationship with campus customers.

This job posting is for multiple openings on various shifts including day, swing, and graveyard shifts.

The full salary range for the Sr. Custodian position is $21.05 - $28.89 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

*** Please note the realized minimum pay for this position will be $25 an hour.***

• Current work authorization to accept a UCR staff position. Sponsorship of employment visas is not available.
• Ability to work multiple shifts as indicated (day, swing, graveyard).
• Ability to comply with applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements; follow federal, state, or local directives as required.
• Willingness to perform custodial duties in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with campus community.
