About the job Legal Billing & Collections Specialist

Pay: $72,800 - $83,200

Note: This position requires employees to be on-site five days a week at the Oakland, CA office during the probationary period, then transitions to a hybrid schedule.

Note: You must have at least 3 years of legal billing experience and proficiency with billing software. If you do not meet this requirement, please do not schedule a call, as it will be canceled.

Job Description

  • Manage full-cycle billing and collections for assigned attorneys and clients
  • Generate, edit, and finalize monthly client invoices
  • Review and apply client billing guidelines
  • Track and update client budgets and rates in billing systems
  • Process write-offs and time entry adjustments as needed
  • Prepare daily deposits and post cash receipts
  • Coordinate closely with attorneys regarding collections
  • Communicate with clients on billing matters professionally and promptly
  • Support other finance team members and assist with special projects
  • Organize electronic files and documentation accurately
  • Maintain accuracy under deadlines and deliver high-quality results

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in legal billing using billing software
  • Strong skills in MS Excel and general tech-savviness
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Prior experience in legal collections is a plus
  • Able to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Professional, team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach
