Civil Litigation Attorney Position Overview:
We are seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney with 3-10 years of experience to join a collaborative and growing legal team. This role is well-suited for an attorney who can independently manage cases from inception through resolution, including handling discovery, motion practice, depositions and client communication. The ideal candidate is confident, detail-oriented, and proactive, with the ability to take ownership of a diverse civil litigation caseload while working effectively within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of civil litigation, including case strategy, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and settlement negotiations
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other court documents
- Attend hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners on case strategy and trial preparation
- Maintain organized case files and meet court deadlines
- Handle multiple cases with efficiency and attention to detail
- Provide case evaluations and risk assessments to clients
- Assist in negotiating settlements and resolving disputes effectively
- Prepare witnesses and experts for depositions and trial testimony
- Stay up to date on relevant case law and legal trends affecting practice areas
- Ensure compliance with court rules, procedures, and ethical obligations
- Licensed to practice law in California and in good standing with the State Bar
- 3-10+ years of civil litigation experience
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Experience managing cases from inception to resolution
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Trial experience is a plus but not required
