The Business Analyst supports complex IT and business transformation initiatives within a utility electric operations environment, with a strong focus on Asset & Work Management and Electric Generation Interconnection (EGI). This role partners closely with business and technical stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and translate requirements into scalable solutions across SAP and enterprise platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Elicit, analyze, validate, and prioritize business and technical requirements
- Conduct interviews, workshops, site visits, surveys, and workflow modeling sessions
- Define scope, impact, success metrics, and outcomes for assigned projects
- Translate conceptual business needs into clear functional requirements
- Develop process models, specifications, diagrams, and documentation
- Manage requirements through the full project lifecycle, including change control
- Participate in QA and testing efforts, including test script creation
- Support selection, evaluation, and optimization of software solutions
- Communicate requirement changes and impacts to project managers and stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, engineering, and operations
- 5+ years of Business Analyst or related experience
- Experience supporting medium to large complex IT projects
- Strong background in SAP Work & Asset Management
- Electric Distribution, Transmission, and Substation environments
- Experience with Asset Work Management and EGI programs
- Knowledge of utility work management workflows from customer request to grid interconnection
- Experience with SAP, Customer Web Portals, CC&B, GIS, and Documentum
- Working knowledge of SQL
- Experience with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies
- Proficiency with Visio, Excel, and Power Point
- Experience with Field Service Management (SAP FSM)
- Power generation experience (hydro, electric, or similar)
- Utilities experience similar to electric and gas providers
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business Administration
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to influence and collaborate with senior leadership
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
