Quality Engineer - w2​/no H1​/c2c

Overview

Exciting contract Quality Engineer – Software opportunity with an established firm. This position will be hybrid local to Oakland, CA, Alpharetta, GA or Rancho Cordova, CA. W2 only/no c2c /H1.

Daily Responsibilities

• Defines and creates detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test strategies
• Reviews requirements and specifications to provide timely and meaningful feedback
• Creates detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases
• Estimates, prioritizes, plans and coordinates testing activities
• Executes test cases and/or automation scripts and identifies and documents defects thoroughly
• Manual claims segment testing and application level testing
• Applies test standards and testing processes (i.e. SDLC, Agile)
• Collaborates with internal teams (i.e. developers, product managers, administrators) to identify new requirements to improve quality
• Investigates the causes of routine defects and implements new processes and/or solutions (i.e. software upgrade)
• Installs, configures and maintains testing programs
• Analyzes quality assurance metrics and creates test summary reports
• Creates reports and analyzes data to identify solutions that meet business goals
• Analyzes current processes and identifies existing or potential problems in order to discover new process improvement opportunities

• 4+ years with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience as a QA Manual/Automated tester
• Experience building and executing automated testing solutions/frameworks using Java/JavaScript and Python
• Hands-on experience in building test automation frameworks
• Experience with test frameworks to build TDD/BDD and Test Reporting
• Experience with Selenium/Web Driver IO/PyTest/Jasmine/Mocha
• Knowledge of SQL/JIRA and agile lifecycle
• Knowledge of industry standards, quality control techniques and procedures
• Excellent data analysis skills with strong problem-solving ability
• Knowledge of quality assurance and production technologies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to adapt to change and foster accountability
