Facility

Gladman is licensed as a 40‑bed Mental Health Rehabilitation Center (MHRC) providing sub‑acute psychiatric treatment to adults 18 and older.

Position

Full‑time | Monday‑Friday |

Hours:

8:00 am‑4:30 pm

Role Transportation Worker:
Responsible for transporting clients to off‑site appointments and other transportation assignments.

Compensation

Expected starting wage is $21.78, with geographic differentials applied. The starting pay is commensurate with experience above the minimum requirements.

Qualifications
  • One (1) year of experience providing direct care to individuals with severe or chronic mental disorders.
  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Valid Class C California Driver's License and insurance.
  • Must obtain Class “B” licensure within sixty (60) days of hire.
  • Can work independently with limited supervision.
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Experience with severely and persistently mentally ill adults is preferred.
  • Finger‑printed and clearance from the Criminal Justice Department.
Key Responsibilities and Result Areas
  • Arrange and schedule client transportation as directed.
  • Create a master schedule for all client transportation needs each week.
  • Transport clients to scheduled appointments and outings.
  • Document client appointments, behavior, and other pertinent interactions in the medical record.
  • Monitor clients during transportation.
  • Conduct vehicle safety checks before each use.
  • Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients, modeling a hopeful and positive attitude for coping with mental‑illness related disabilities.
  • Implement nursing duties when assigned, including protecting clients from behaviors that could harm self‑esteem or the facility’s relationships with other agencies.
  • Provide Mental Health Worker duties when assigned to a nursing station.
  • Apply Professional Assault Response Training (PART) principles to manage aggressive behavior.

Physical Requirements
  • Sitting, walking, standing, bending (neck/waist), squatting, climbing, kneeling, crawling, twisting (neck/waist) – varying minutes per day.
  • Repetitive hand use, gripping (simple, power, fine manipulation), pushing & pulling, reaching – all requiring development of appropriate physical strain tolerance.
  • Lifting up to 100 + lbs, carrying 5 ft. height clearance and 3–6 hrs weight ranges.
