Overview
Job Summary:
We are hiring for a Sonographer for our UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital in Oakland.
- Perform ultrasound procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention.
- Process images on appropriate archival systems.
- Participate in performance improvement activities in the department.
- Maintain appropriate quality control records and participate in routine equipment testing and maintenance.
- Work Monday through Friday with weekend coverage as required.
- Graduate of a formal accredited ultrasound training program in an approved school.
- Flexibility in scheduling, ability to rotate shifts and provide weekend/holiday/on-call coverage.
- Requires ARDMS credentials in Abdomen and OB/Gyn specialties at minimum.
- Requires 2 years as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or equivalent.
- New hires who meet criteria of equivalent experience and credentials held must also have equivalent Senior Sonographer skills;
Senior Diagnostic Medical Sonographer title may be granted at the discretion of the Section Chief and Section Supervisor. - Maintain ARDMS credential(s) according to the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography's criteria.
- Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations and variable shifts per department needs.
- Recent work experience in an acute care setting.
- RDMS in Abdominal and OB/GYN Sonography
