Department Overview

The Agency Reporting department serves as PG&E’s main contact with the CPUC’s Safety Enforcement Division (SED) for audits and data requests. It manages all audit phases, coordinates stakeholder meetings and data requests, oversees quality assurance, and facilitates regulatory walkthroughs of PG&Es different Headquarters and Divisions for Electric Transmission, Substation, and Distribution. The team ensures compliance, drives continuous improvement, and mitigates risk through strong organization, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration.

It maintains high standards of accuracy and confidentiality. The team responds to audit findings by developing corrective actions and monitoring improvements. Through its work, the department promotes compliance, transparency, and risk mitigation across the organization.

Position Summary

The Compliance & Risk Consultant, Expert will be part of a team that is responsible for managing the daily activities between PG&E and the CPUC’s Safety Enforcement Division (SED) including oversight and management of all phases of Electric CPUC Audits performed by SED.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.

Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case‑by‑case basis related to these factors.

A reasonable salary range is:

This position is hybrid, working from your remote office (within the PG&E service territory) and your assigned work location based on business needs. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory.

Job Responsibilities

This dynamic department plays a pivotal role in safeguarding organizational integrity by managing and supporting the entire audit process from start to finish. Its core duties include but are not limited to:

  • Organizing Stakeholder Meetings:
    Arranging and leading kick‑off meetings with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure everyone understands the audit’s goals, timelines, and what information is needed. This involves clear communication, setting expectations, and fostering collaboration across various departments.
  • Coordinating Data Requests:
    Breaking down pre‑audit data requirements, assigning questions to the right business units, and overseeing the collection of responses and supporting documents. The department acts as a central hub, maintaining meticulous records and tracking progress to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Quality Control:
    Reviewing all submitted data to make sure it is complete, accurate, and confidential information remains protected. If information is missing or incorrect, they work with the business units to make corrections. Attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility are critical in upholding the organization’s standards.
  • Facilitating Audit Walkthroughs:
    Planning and leading on‑site reviews with external regulators and internal teams, documenting observations and ensuring audit requirements are addressed during the walkthrough. This includes preparing comprehensive documentation, coordinating logistics, and supporting teams throughout the audit process.
  • Managing Additional Data Requests:
    Handling new or follow‑up data requests that arise during or after field audits, assigning them for response, and checking that replies are complete and confidential. Adaptability and responsiveness are essential as priorities shift and new information emerges.
