Position Summary
The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P) has provided state funding for after school and summer school enrichment programs for transitional kindergarten through eighth grade. “Expanded learning” means before school, after school, summer, or intersession learning programs that focus on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of pupils through hands-on, engaging learning experiences. It is the intent of the Legislature that expanded learning programs are pupil-centered, results-driven, include community partners, and complement learning activities in the regular school day and school year.
The Expanded Learning Opportunities Site Manager will supervise students and support the operations of the after school, summer school and intersession program days. They will support the school’s effort to provide high-quality expanded programming for our school beyond the traditional school day. Reporting directly to the Director of Expanded Learning (DEL), the ELO Site Manager will be responsible for supervising students and leading clubs after school, supporting running summer school and other intersession days.
The ELO Site Manager will also own family communication and operational support for the after school and summer programs, including daily attendance, enrollment composition and fiscal compliance. In addition, the ELO Site Manager will coach and evaluate staffing and program partners.
- Support the Director of Expanded Learning to create a joyful learning environment.
- Assess the current status of existing after school and/or expanded programming to align with the ELO-P and EFC’s guidelines and requirements.
- Implement ELO-P programming in alignment with school and EFC academic priorities.
- Participate in the hiring, supervising, overseeing, scheduling, and evaluation of all network-wide ELO-P, and expanded learning staff members.
- In partnership with the DEL and other ELO-P Site Managers, plan and implement curriculum and schedule for expanded programs, including after school and intersession programming, off-site field trips.
- Provide professional development for ELO-P site staff to reinforce school-wide expectations and necessary health, safety and emergency protocols.
- Implement systems for expanded attendance reporting and progress monitoring.
- Collaborate with the region to design and implement enrichment activities for all expanded learning programs to include ELO-P (includes ASES).
- Complete site-wide compliance reporting, such as nutrition, budget, and other program reports.
- Responsible for outreach and providing key information and updates to all stakeholders through various mediums.
- Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
- Manage after school and summer school inventory of office supplies, textbooks, curriculum, and other materials.
- Serve as the point person for first aid and student medication.
- Track and process daily student attendance accurately.
- Act as the point person for customer service for family questions.
- Maintain complete and accurate student records and coordinate with the school front office for any family information updates.
- Organize and process all incoming applications and enrollment paperwork for after school and summer school.
- Draft and review parent communication in English and Spanish.
- Support with implementing school safety plans and procedures.
- Assist with on-campus and off-campus school events, including student field trips.
- Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned.
Experience:
- Prior experience working in a school-based setting in a leadership position.
- Experience in curriculum or academic/after school program design.
- At least three years of experience in a professional work setting with a preference for non-profit, educational, or recreational setting.
