Job Description SummaryThe Peralta Community College District invites applications for our Temporary, Part‑Time Faculty pool in Economics.
Duties & ResponsibilitiesAs an instructor, you will design, develop, and deliver high‑quality instruction in Economics courses to meet the academic and programmatic goals of the district.
Responsibilities include:
assessing student progress, providing timely feedback, maintaining accurate records, adhering to district policies, and supporting the mission of active and inclusive learning. All teaching assignments are subject to Chancellor approval.
- Possession of a Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in Economics.
- OR possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and a Master’s Degree in Business, Business Administration, Business Management, Business Education, Finance, or Political Science.
- OR submission of a fully satisfied lifetime California Community College Instructor Credential authorizing service to teach Economics (no longer issued after July 1, 1990).
- OR equivalent qualifications with conclusive evidence, as required on the District Equivalency Application Form.
- Understanding and respect for the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community‑college students.
Experience and additional credentials that correspond with district requirements for non‑master’s degree disciplines.
Other RequirementsFor non‑Master’s disciplines, the district requires a minimum of four years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree and six years with an Associate’s degree. See the Minimum Qualifications Handbook for full details:
