Position

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate Middle School Geoscience Teacher to join our instructional team. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality education, fostering a positive learning environment, and collaborating with colleagues to meet our school's goals. We believe that the quality, presence, and effectiveness of teachers are crucial to student achievement and are committed to recruiting, developing, supporting, and retaining excellent educators.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Classroom Management: Effectively manage student behavior, create a positive environment, implement behavior strategies, establish routines, and resolve conflicts.
  • Instructional Delivery: Develop engaging lessons aligned with standards and curriculum, adapt instruction for diverse learners, and utilize various instructional strategies.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student progress, provide support and interventions, develop assessments, and give constructive feedback.
  • Communication: Maintain professional communication with students, parents, and staff; conduct parent-teacher conferences; and use effective communication channels.
  • Collaboration: Work with staff on student success initiatives, participate in team meetings, and contribute to school-wide efforts.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training, stay updated on best practices.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete attendance, manage materials, enforce dress code, ensure safety, and follow emergency procedures.

Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • California teaching credential or willingness to obtain one.
  • Experience working with children/youth preferred.
  • Strong classroom management skills and subject mastery.
  • Previous experience in charter schools is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged standing and walking.
  • Dexterity for computer use.
  • Bending, kneeling, crouching.
  • Ability to access various facilities.
  • Occasional lifting up to twenty pounds.

Compensation

The salary range is $65,000 - $94,500, commensurate with experience and education. A competitive benefits package is included. This is a full-time, in-person, exempt position.
