Middle School 6th Grade History/Science (1-year)
Head‑Royce School is hiring a full‑time 6th‑grade teacher for a one‑year position beginning in August for the 26‑27 school year.
Essential responsibilities include planning and teaching history and science curriculum, serving as a Middle School advisor, and contributing to the school’s mission of Students First, Academic Excellence, Diversity, Belonging, and Civic Engagement.
Qualifications- Minimum bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 2–5 years of teaching experience, preferably in middle school.
- Knowledge and practice of culturally responsive teaching and anti‑bias pedagogy.
- Strong communication with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Demonstrated understanding of child development and curriculum design, including Understanding by Design (UbD).
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to serve as a 2‑3 night outdoor education trip adviser.
- Advanced degrees or certification in history, science, or education.
- Experience with Universal Design for Learning (UDL).
$75,000 – $125,000 a year, prorated for part‑time; salary depends on full‑time percentage.
