Pay RangeBase pay range: $61,000 - $105,000 per year.

OpportunityWe seek a highly motivated CTE Health Science Pathway Lead Teacher to teach multiple health science classes, lead advisory/crew, and collaborate on curriculum, community partnerships and work‑based learning.

- Teach multiple sections of high school health sciences, an elective and a grade‑level crew/advisory each day.
- Lead daily advisory (crew), morning or afternoon duty up to two times per week, and guided study hall or ELD course as needed.
- Plan and implement a standards‑based, student‑driven curriculum that meets rigor and differentiates for all learners.
- Use formative and summative assessment tools (Schoology, MAP, etc.) to monitor progress.
- Develop and grow the pathway program with community partners, work‑based learning and public relations activities.
- Maintain all LCPS policies and procedures in a timely, professional manner.
- Create a supportive, learning‑centered environment with effective management and inclusive systems.
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues, fostering a community of risk‑taking, collaborative learners.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and personal growth to improve student outcomes.
- Demonstrate advocacy, flexibility, collegiality, and self‑awareness.
- Administer attendance, dress code, and other school policies per LCPS and state regulations.
- B.A. or B.S. required.
- California teaching credential required, or verified ability to obtain within a reasonable period.
- Valid Certificate of Clearance necessary.
- Knowledge of California Common Core standards, mastery‐based learning, curriculum planning, and data analysis preferred.
- 2+ years teaching urban youth with transformational results preferred.
- Familiarity with educational platforms.
- Experience in a progressive school model preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Work in loud environments such as cafeterias, playgrounds, classrooms, and large professional settings.
- Adaptability to indoor/outdoor activities and field trips in all weather.
- Ability to work in air‑conditioned and heated spaces under fluorescent lighting.
Ability to see, hear, speak, sit and stand for extended periods; lift up to 25 pounds; walk long distances; use fingers for keyboarding and whiteboard work; supervise students outdoors under varying weather. Occasional travel for PD.
SupervisionReports to the School Principal or designated designee.
Time CommitmentFull‑time, 1.0 FTE; 10‑month (190 day) work year with significant student‑free days for professional learning. New starters begin late July/early August 2026 per LCPS calendar.
Common Building Hours- Campus Building
Hours:
8:00–4:00 pm M, Tu, Th, Fri; 8:00–5:00 pm Wednesday for professional development. - Occasional evening events such as ice‑cream social, back‑to‑school night, expo, and other identified events.
