The Division of Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals is recruiting faculty members to join our Diagnostic and Interventional Pediatric and Adult Congenital Catheterization Program. Appointment will be made at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank in the Clinical X or HS Clinical series. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
The selected candidates will join a major academic medical center and established training program. This position may have clinical responsibilities at both the San Francisco and Oakland campuses and would actively contribute to the Department's mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care.
AnticipatedJob Duties
Interventional Cardiac Catheterization: Provide diagnostic and interventional congenital cardiac catheterization procedures as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. The program currently performs approximately 600 cases annually across three hospital sites. The candidate will join a team of pediatric interventional cardiologists providing 24/7 coverage.
General Cardiology Service: Participate in the inpatient cardiology service, including care of patients in the 12‑bed Cardiac Transitional Care Unit and cardiology consultations throughout the hospital. Expected service includes approximately six weeks of weekday inpatient service and about six weekends of call annually, shared among the general cardiology faculty.
Required Qualifications- MD or equivalent degree
- California medical license or eligibility
- Board certification/eligibility in Pediatrics
- Board certification/eligibility in Pediatric Cardiology
- Formal training or significant experience in congenital cardiac catheterization and interventions
- Completion of an advanced fourth‑year fellowship in pediatric interventional cardiology
- Board certification/eligibility in Adult Congenital Heart Disease
- Prior academic or programmatic leadership experience

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $131,200‑$344,400. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
For positions that are 50% effort or less:
See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $93,700‑$246,000.
