This is a contract to hire opportunity.
Senior AccountantWe’re looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations with meaningful ownership over general ledger and month-end close, alongside payroll processing, payroll accounting, and light HR administration. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys owning processes end to end while partnering closely with Finance, Payroll, and HR.
What You’ll DoCore Accounting & Month-End Close (?70%)
- Own general ledger accounting including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Execute month-end and quarter-end close activities in accordance with GAAP
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules
- Perform variance analysis and provide clear explanations for management and auditors
- Maintain SOX-compliant processes, documentation, and audit-ready work papers
Payroll Processing & Payroll Accounting (?20%)
- Support end-to-end payroll processing on a semi-monthly or bi-weekly basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare and post payroll journal entries, accruals, and related reconciliations
- Perform pre- and post-payroll validation, variance analysis, and tie-outs between payroll systems and the GL
- Assist with payroll tax filings, year-end activities (W-2s, reconciliations), and audit support
- Serve as a point of contact for payroll-related questions and issue resolution
HR & Benefits Support (?10%)
- Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding processes
- Support payroll-related benefits administration including deductions and reconciliations
- Maintain accurate employee data in payroll and HR systems
- Partner with HR on basic employee lifecycle administration and documentation
- 4–6+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or fast-paced environment
- Strong hands-on experience with GL accounting and month-end close
- Practical experience supporting payroll processing and payroll accounting
- Working knowledge of payroll taxes, benefits deductions, and compliance fundamentals
- Familiarity with accounting and payroll systems (Net Suite, ADP, Paychex, Workday, or similar)
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, service-oriented mindset
