Staff Accountant

Position: Staff Accountant (Contract)
Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant with at least 3 years of professional accounting experience . In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with various accounting operations to ensure the accuracy of financial records and compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate has solid accounting knowledge, proficiency with financial reporting, analysis, and a problem-solving mindset.

This is a full time (40 Hours per week) contract position that is anticipated to last 3-4 months with potential for an extension or to become a long-term opportunity.

This position is located onsite in Oakland, California.

Responsibilities:

+ Manage and maintain accurate financial transactions

+ Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures, including account reconciliations and financial reporting.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain proper system integrations between Net Suite and other business systems.

+ Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.

+ Perform variance analysis on general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.

+ Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with GAAP standards.

+ Support the audit process by providing requested documentation and schedules.

+ Assist with implementing process improvements and best practices to enhance accounting workflow and efficiency.

+ Maintain compliance with tax filings, regulations, and internal controls.

Requirements

Requirements:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Preferred)

+ 3+ years of accounting experience in a corporate setting

+ Net Suite, Oracle or SAP ERP or similar system experience is required

+ Familiarity with reporting tools within Net Suite is a plus

+ Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and general ledger functions

+ Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas). Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

+ Strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders.
