Building Engineer

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an on‑site General Building Engineer in HMP Stocken. The standard hours are 39 hours per week, with a need to work 1 in 3 weekends on a rota basis, plus a 15% additional allowance.

• Ensure availability of critical parts for statutory tasks and manage remedial tasks in the CAFM system.
• Perform general and semi‑skilled maintenance activities, including security systems like CCTV and alarms.
• Conduct monthly checks and tests of fire extinguisher equipment, fire hydrants, and hoses.
• Complete quarterly RCD testing and inspect misting units.
• Maintain fire doors and perform flushing and tap temperature tests as per water risk assessments.
• Undertake monthly and annual emergency lighting checks.
• Check and test smoke vents as required.
• Carry out any other duties as required.

• Experience in multiple areas of maintenance such as fire, door maintenance, extinguisher maintenance and alarm core points.
• Emergency lighting, RCD, water temperature testing expertise.
• IT skills.
