Multi Trade (Carpenter or Plumber)

Fortem, a Social Housing property expert, is looking for an experienced Multi Trade to join our repairs and maintenance team at Amplius Housing for a 6‑month FTC contract until July 2026, with a possibility of becoming permanent.

Location:

Rushden, Northamptonshire office, covering properties mainly in Leicestershire, Kettering and Peterborough. Travel is essential.

• Carpentry/Plumbing repairs for all social housing properties as per specification, meeting turnaround deadlines.
• Advisory to Supervisor on need for other trades, working in partnership with other operatives.
• Accurate recording and submission of data using relevant business systems and electronic devices.
• Excellent customer service to client representatives and tenants.
• Purchase of materials required to deliver works efficiently.
• Compliance with safeguarding policy and H&S standards.
• Operating within company’s occupational road risk policies and procedures.
• Daily correspondence via PDA/smartphone to update progress.

• NVQ or equivalent qualification in Carpentry or Plumbing, or experience‑based qualification.
• Full driving licence.
• Basic DBS check.
• Social housing experience (Desirable).

• Company van for work purposes and fuel card.
• All power tools, uniform and PPE provided.
• 25 days annual leave + bank holidays + birthday off (34 days total) pro rata.

• 26 weeks full pay maternity leave, 8 weeks full pay paternity leave.

• Vast directory of training on bespoke in‑house Learning Management System.
