Job Description
This position is for a Press Operator 2.
Shift Details- 2nd shift (2pm - 10pm) or 3rd shift (10pm - 6am). Will transition to a 12‑hour rotating night shift (6pm‑6am) (Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday; Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday).
- Experienced candidates eligible for higher pay rate.
- The position is responsible to set up, adjust, operate, and maintain a number of press equipment.
- Perform all make‑ready tasks associated with the Flexographic press operated such as mounting plates or installing print cylinders, examine plates/cylinders for imperfections and checks for correct positioning of images, prep web paths, adjust tension and register, etc.
- Make necessary color correction and anilox adjustment and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work.
- Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required.
- Perform periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer.
- Requires 5 years of a thorough knowledge of Flexographic printing procedures, materials and specifications, equipment, and safety requirements and skills to perform assignments.
- Skill to read and understand job specifications and knowledge of press capabilities to determine the most appropriate press usage, press settings and materials needed to run the job successfully.
- Skill to make a variety of difficult precise web paths, and adjustments, and to perform routine operational maintenance of equipment.
- Skill in routine operational maintenance and minor repairs to equipment.
- Knowledge of basic computer skills, Excel, Word and Google, preferred.
- Skill in use of Mark Andy, Aquaflex, Comco, Webtron preferred.
The pay range for this role at the noted location is $25.49 to $40.31 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential, call‑in, and stand‑by pay.
