Facilities Project Coordinator

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 7:00am - 3:45pm

Job Description:

We are seeking a Steel Project Coordinator who will act as liaison between shop and field to resolve discrepancies, have 5-10 years of Project Coordination experience in steel fabrication industry, possess strong organizational skills, have the ability to read and interpret shop/erection drawings, experience with or general knowledge of 3D modeling software and Tekla software.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Act as liaison between shop and field to resolve discrepancies
• Drawing & Document Management
• Transfer approved fab drawings into Tekla; run KSS files and report issues to Detail Manager.
• Verify BOM accuracy by comparing fab drawings to Tekla reports.
• Handle document control: upload KSS files, print and distribute drawings, and maintain drawing logs.
• Manage approval and distribution of shop and field drawings; ensure compliance with design intent.
• Coordination & Communication
• Serve as liaison between shop, field, and detailers to resolve fabrication and erection issues.
• Maintain daily communication with Project and Production Managers regarding progress.
• Coordinate all drawing revisions with Project and Production Managers.
• Material & Production Prep
• Compare load lists to erection drawings and verify bolt, ABM, and backup bar listings.
• Cross-check bolts, anchors, shims, and other materials from Tekla reports against drawings.
• Create material cut lists (nesting) and shop orders for each release.
• Ensure backup bars and runoff tabs are shipped with bolts.
• Procurement & Inventory Support
• Confirm with Purchasing Agent that all misc. materials, hardware, and coatings are ordered.
• Ensure all items are included in load lists to prevent delays.
• Support and maintain full use of the Tekla system throughout all processes.

Qualifications:

• 5 - 10 years of Project Coordination experience in steel fabrication industry
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
• Possess strong organizational skills
• Have the ability to read and interpret shop/erection drawings
• Experience with or general knowledge of 3D modeling software and Tekla software
