We are seeking a dynamic leader to oversee our Childcare Centers in New London and Groton, CT. Our centers provide full-day, year-round care and education in child-centered classrooms. This program is NAEYC accredited. We pride ourselves on our proven track record of creating a safe and nurturing environment that fosters children s growth and development. Our accredited early education programs are available year-round and full-day, ensuring each child receives the best care and education through our child-centered classrooms.

We offer comprehensive support for the entire family and the Director will provide leadership, guidance and support to the staff responsible for these services.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all employees understand and adhere to the Agency’s Mission Statement and Objectives
  • Stay up to date on early childhood education trends, including trauma-informed education
  • Develop program improvement recommendations for Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)
  • Work with Assistant Directors to manage appropriate staff scheduling
  • Operate effective tuition policies
  • Supervise and provide leadership to direct reports and programs, leading monthly ECS staff meetings with the leadership team
  • Manage budgeting, licensing, and grant writing and/or reporting requirements
  • Ensure management of record maintenance for staff and students, meeting licensing and funding requirements, social service consultants, up to date parent handbook and policies
  • Maintain and implement staff professional development plans including Qualified Staff Member (QSM) Plans
  • Collaborate with parents, educators, community partners, and colleagues in other departments for the well-being of children
Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master Degree Preferred)
  • Candidates must be OEC Head Teacher Certified and be eligible for a Director’s Credential
Nice To Have
  • Master s degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field
  • Previous childcare leadership experience strongly preferred
