Location: Oakdale, CA.

Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:00 am – 3:45 pm

Pay Rate: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 DOE

Position Summary:

The Detailing Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all detailing-related aspects of steel fabrication projects, ensuring drawing quality, accuracy, and consistency. This role supervises internal and external detailers, manages schedules and logs, maintains modeling standards, and assists with project management and programming as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review design drawings to determine project requirements and provide fabrication direction.
• Direct and manage outside detailing firms to ensure adherence to company standards.
• Coordinate BIM processes when required.
• Set up detailing systems and templates at the start of projects.
• Track and maintain Detailing and Project Drawing logs.
• Review fabrication and erection drawings for presentation, accuracy, and alignment with contract requirements.
• Assist with in-house revisions and troubleshoot NC, DXF, and KSS files with programming and admin teams.
• Control models for all projects and ensure detailing standards are upheld.
• Assist Project Management as needed and provide Tekla software training.
• Ensure consistent piece marking for identical parts.
• Coordinate with detailers and Project Managers to ensure timely shop and erection drawings.
• Ensure architectural requirements (e.g., grind smooth areas) are reflected accurately in the drawings.
• Issue erection drawings within three days of the final fabrication release.
• Verify that all approval comments are incorporated in final shop drawings prior to release.

Qualifications:

• Advanced knowledge of Tekla or similar detailing software.
• Strong understanding of fabrication, structural steel standards, and drawing conventions.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
• Prior experience in BIM coordination preferred.
• Ability to lead, train, and manage multiple external and internal teams.
• Experience with NC file troubleshooting and programming is a plus.
