Senior Linux Infrastructure & Storage Engineer

Allied Resources Technical Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Senior Linux Infrastructure & Storage Engineer to support enterprise-level storage and infrastructure operations for a leading energy services organization in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois. This role will be responsible for the architecture, implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of complex storage environments within Linux/Unix systems. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in SAN/NAS technologies, performance tuning, capacity planning, and infrastructure integration, along with the ability to lead initiatives and provide advanced technical guidance.

Onsite Tuesday–Thursday | Remote Monday & Friday

12-Month Contract (Strong Possibility of Extension)

Full-Time – 40 Hours/Week

Compensation: $80/hr – $98/hr

Overtime: 1.5x for approved OT hours

• Architect, deploy, and maintain enterprise storage solutions supporting Linux/Unix environments.
• Lead the configuration and administration of SAN and NAS platforms to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Perform advanced storage provisioning, system optimization, and reliability enhancements.
• Monitor storage performance metrics and proactively resolve complex infrastructure issues.
• Conduct storage capacity forecasting and lifecycle management planning.
• Implement and maintain data protection, backup, and storage security controls in alignment with enterprise standards.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with server, network, and cloud teams to ensure seamless infrastructure integration.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and operational procedures.
• Support infrastructure upgrade initiatives and expansion projects.
• Research and evaluate emerging storage technologies to recommend continuous improvement opportunities.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and operational support teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
• 7+ years of experience supporting Linux/Unix infrastructure environments.
• Strong hands‑on experience with enterprise SAN and NAS storage platforms.
• Advanced knowledge of storage performance tuning, replication, and high‑availability configurations.
• Experience with storage monitoring tools and capacity management methodologies.
• Understanding of storage security best practices and data protection strategies.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across multiple system layers.
• Strong documentation and technical communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment while collaborating across infrastructure teams.
