General Summary
The Nursing Care Center RN – Field Representative surveys long‑term nursing care organizations throughout the United States. Applies systems analysis skills and inductive reasoning skills to determine health care organizations' degree of compliance with applicable standards and functionality of care delivery systems. Engages health care organization staff in interactive dialogues on standards‑based issues in health care to assess compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Prepares management reports that link individual standard deficiencies with potential systems vulnerabilities and related organization risk points, and communicates this information to leadership in a constructive and collegial style. Participates in other Joint Commission activities as assigned by supervisor.
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing and hold a Master’s degree in an appropriate discipline.
- Current professional license in the discipline required at time of hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
- Preferred:
Nursing Home Administration license. - Five years of experience in long‑term care, including three years of direct clinical experience and two years of senior management experience.
- Experience working in a culturally diverse environment. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem‑solving skills; expertise in interviewing; PC proficiency.
- Certification:
Must hold a CPHQ certification (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) through NAHQ at time of hire or by December 31 2028.
Full‑time and part‑time positions are available. Part‑time candidates must be available to work two or three weeks per month and provide three or four weeks of availability for scheduling purposes. All positions require 100% nationwide travel.
Physical Abilities- Observe and assess health care treatment in real time without interrupting progress.
- Stand for long periods, walk extensive distances, lift, climb, stoop, pull, and push to inspect and evaluate facilities, equipment, and procedures.
- Walk up and down stairways to test escape routes and assess safety of emergency exits.
- Remove obstructed covers or impediments to equipment or mechanical areas.
- Examine small, often dirty labels and prints on equipment.
- Engage in extensive travel, including driving to remote locations, flying on small aircraft to small airports, and traveling in all weather conditions.
