Through an extensive network of distribution centers and branches across North America, we provide fast, reliable parts delivery and value-added services to professional repair shops and wholesale partners.

Position Summary

The Demand Planning Analyst is responsible for analyzing historical sales, trends, promotions, seasonality, and market signals to develop accurate demand forecasts. This role supports the company’s Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process and contributes to achieving service level targets, reducing excess inventory, and improving inventory turns across a complex, multi-echelon supply chain. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and adept at translating data into actionable inventory and procurement strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze historical sales, customer demand, promotional activity, and external trends to build item-level forecasts across national and regional branch networks.
  • Maintain and continuously improve forecast accuracy metrics (e.g., MAPE, bias) by SKU, category, and region.
  • Collaborate with Inventory Planning, Procurement, and Category Management to align forecasts with stocking strategies and vendor MOQs.
  • Support monthly SIOP meetings with forecast variance reporting, product lifecycle updates, and insights on forecast drivers.
  • Leverage planning tools and BI platforms (e.g., DRP, Excel, SQL, Power BI) to visualize trends and track forecast performance.
  • Incorporate input from Sales and Category teams on upcoming promotions, new product introductions (NPIs), and regional shifts in demand.
  • Flag exceptions such as chronic under-forecasting, overstock risk, and demand anomalies; recommend corrective actions.
  • Partner with IT and Analytics to refine demand models and enhance system-generated forecasts using machine learning or historical regression techniques.
  • Support inventory conversion planning for product transitions, branch rollouts, and network optimization initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Analytics, Finance, or related field; APICS/IBF certification is a plus
  • 2+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or inventory analytics within distribution or retail
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas), SQL, and data visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau)
  • Experience with demand planning or ERP systems such as PTC Servigistics, JD Edwards, SAP, or similar
  • Knowledge of SIOP or IBP process preferred
  • Ability to communicate insights clearly and collaborate across cross-functional teams
  • Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with aftermarket auto parts, high-SKU environments, or regional demand segmentation
  • Understanding of lead time variability, vendor constraints, and their impact on inventory positioning
  • Ability to manage large datasets and draw insights from complex supply chain scenarios
