Bechtel National, Inc. (BNI) is Bechtel’s government services business and a top provider to U.S. and British governments. This position supports the Uranium Processing Facility (UPF) at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Job SummaryYou will operate and maintain plant equipment and systems according to process design requirements. You will generate operating, inventory, and shift reports and will monitor, identify, test, analyze, evaluate, and resolve equipment or supply issues. Frequent monitoring and data analysis will ensure equipment and systems are continuously operating as designed.
Major Responsibilities- Operates equipment and systems in accordance with process design requirements
- Operates equipment and system startup effort as required
- Prepares work orders for servicing and repairs and submits to Lead Operator/Maintenance personnel
- Prepares systems for minor maintenance
- Coordinates frequent monitoring of both plants, including logging and analysis of data to ensure both units operate as designed
- Completes shift reports
- Prepares inventory reports and orders chemicals when needed
- Assists with and may be responsible for conducting routine sampling and analytical work
- Identifies equipment problems and initiates repair documentation
- Participates in emergency response activities per plant programs and training (fire, medical, environmental)
- Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
- Previous experience as an Operational Supervisor
- Recent plant Operations/Management experience
- Experience in using Work Control Software
- Must be physically able to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs
- Extensive walking in and around a construction site, climbing ladders, climbing scaffolding, using fall protection and other PPE, walking on elevated platforms, uneven surfaces, and in very small and/or confined spaces
Eligibility for this position requires U.S. citizenship; candidates must provide proof of citizenship to obtain badge access to the site. The candidate must complete a security questionnaire and successfully clear site access checks. All employees are subject to random drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment. Must be able to obtain a security clearance, as applicable.
