Standard Nuclear is fueling America’s nuclear renaissance at industrial scale. Our mission is to deliver the essential building blocks of nuclear power—enabling cost-effective, safe, and secure energy for the world.

The Industrial Engineer will support Standard Nuclear’s engineering, manufacturing, and operations efforts with a primary focus on organizing, tracking, and optimizing process input, efficiency, and production output for all aspects of production. This role requires close integration with individual manufacturing teams focused on specific manufacturing modules across our production chain, the software and engineering teams, and the procurement and supply chain team.

The Industrial Engineer is also expected to define and implement best practices and process improvement protocols into the various production processes through collaboration with the individual manufacturing teams.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented industrial or manufacturing engineer with experience in serial production environments who understands the importance of process efficiency and can work effectively across teams.

Responsibilities Production Metrics & Performance Tracking
  • Establish and maintain clear production metrics and reporting across manufacturing modules, including throughput, yield, cycle time, labor efficiency, and downtime drivers.
  • Work with production and engineering teams to track process inputs, operating parameters, and output data in a structured and repeatable way.
  • Build dashboards and reporting tools to support visibility into performance, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide regular updates and analysis to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify constraints, inefficiencies, and sources of variation across production processes.
  • Produce structured problem-solving efforts to improve process stability, reduce rework, and increase output consistency.
  • Define and deploy best practices for standard work, workflow design, and process controls across the production environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives including 5S, Lean, and root cause analysis practices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with manufacturing teams to understand workflows, challenges, and operational needs.
  • Coordinate with software and engineering teams to support data capture, process tracking, and reporting improvements.
  • Work with procurement and supply chain to align material availability, production readiness, and process inputs.
  • Collaborate with quality and safety teams to ensure operational improvements maintain compliance and procedural discipline.
Standardization & Operational Systems
  • Help implement standardized operating procedures and process documentation that improve repeatability and training efficiency.
  • Support implementation of manufacturing systems such as scheduling tools, work instructions, shift handoffs, and production tracking methods.
  • Assist with capacity planning, line balancing, and labor planning efforts as production scales.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing operations, industrial engineering, or production support roles.
  • Experience working in serial production, industrial operations, or high-throughput manufacturing environments.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing performance metrics and how to improve them.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives and work cross-functionally.
  • Proficiency with Excel and data handling; experience with dashboards/reporting tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and process standardization practices.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication ability.
