The Electronics Service Technician performs in‑house diagnostics and repairs of detectors and/or electronics returned from the field or by our customers. This includes all aspects of the process: from receiving the RMA request, sending the RMA information, contacting the customer if additional fault information is required, performing diagnostics and repairs (mostly electrical in nature but may include mechanical modifications also), documenting the fault and repairs made, packaging the repaired detector and/or electronics and submitting a shipping request.

Responsibilities

  • Handles radioactive sources in accordance with company policy.
  • Assists with system installations in the field when necessary, including travel as required.
  • Follows the RMA process to completion.
  • Maintains the accuracy and integrity of the RMA database (e.g., part description, serial number, fault, evaluation date, repair status, failures found, repairs made, acceptance tests performed).
  • Works with Engineering to develop Acceptance Test Plans for all repaired components.
  • Collaborates with Engineering to maintain an understanding of all existing electronics and detector operations.
  • Maintains Service stock levels and parts ordering, anticipating future needs and ensuring escalation of critical and time‑sensitive material issues.

  • Upholds the Company’s core values of Integrity, Innovation, Accountability, and Teamwork.
  • Demonstrates behavior consistent with the Company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.
  • Reports any quality problems or defects to a manager or senior management for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
