System Engineer, Level IV Security Clearance

Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS) is actively seeking Engineering, Professional, Technical, and administrative support personnel to join our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy at the Y-12 National Security Complex (Oak Ridge, Tennessee) and the Pantex Plant (Amarillo, Texas). Successful candidates will be employed by AIS but will receive day‑to‑day direction from Y‑12 staff.

• Support new machining center installations and/or existing machining production operations through configuration management activities, paperwork, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Perform troubleshooting and improvement activities; apply systems and equipment expertise to resolve technical issues in cooperation with related disciplines.
• Maintain understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, and Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.
• Interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees.
• Work in a production environment; experience in Integrated Safety Management is a plus.

• U.S. citizen, 18 + years of age.
• ABET‑accredited BS in an Engineering discipline with ≥10 years of relevant experience, or MS in a relevant discipline with ≥7 years of experience.
• Required Q clearance.
• Preferred: machining background, mechanical and electrical systems experience, NRC or DOE regulated environment experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Pre‑employment drug screen.
• Medical examination may be required.

Mon–Thu, 40 hrs/week with potential for occasional overtime.
