Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS) is actively seeking Engineering, Professional, Technical, and administrative support personnel to join our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy at the Y-12 National Security Complex (Oak Ridge, Tennessee) and the Pantex Plant (Amarillo, Texas). Successful candidates will be employed by AIS but will receive day‑to‑day direction from Y‑12 staff.
Responsibilities- Support new machining center installations and/or existing machining production operations through configuration management activities, paperwork, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Perform troubleshooting and improvement activities; apply systems and equipment expertise to resolve technical issues in cooperation with related disciplines.
- Maintain understanding of Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, and Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.
- Interface effectively with various clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees.
- Work in a production environment; experience in Integrated Safety Management is a plus.
- U.S. citizen, 18 + years of age.
- ABET‑accredited BS in an Engineering discipline with ≥10 years of relevant experience, or MS in a relevant discipline with ≥7 years of experience.
- Required Q clearance.
- Preferred: machining background, mechanical and electrical systems experience, NRC or DOE regulated environment experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Pre‑employment drug screen.
- Medical examination may be required.
Mon–Thu, 40 hrs/week with potential for occasional overtime.
