Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS) is actively seeking engineering, professional, technical, and administrative support personnel as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, Texas.

Successful candidates will be AIS employees who can advance Y-12's core mission to ensure a safe, secure, and reliable U.S. nuclear deterrent. The employee will take day-to-day direction from Y-12 staff; pay, benefits, and employment management are provided by AIS.

• Development, revision, and peer review of Nuclear Criticality Safety (NCS) documentation such as Criticality Safety Evaluations (CSEs), Nuclear Criticality Safety Determinations (NCSDs), Technical Deviations (TDs), and other NCS technical basis documentation.
• Completion of required NCS annual Operational Reviews as needed.
• Daily nuclear facility support as needed, including facility walkdowns, review of NCS requirements implementing documents, and participation at facility Operational Safety Boards.
• Must be Peer Review qualified.
• Staff augmentation peer review support to accomplish increased mission needs of the Personnel Development and Peer Review NCS Engineering group given the experience possessed by the individual pertinent to Y-12 facilities.

• ABET accredited engineering bachelor’s degree with 10-14 years of experience or a MS with 10-13 years of experience.
• Ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE clearance and would be identified as a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position; WSAP positions require participation in an ongoing random drug testing program in addition to the pre-employment drug screen.
• Pre-employment Drug Screen - post-offer, pre-employment drug test required for external applicants selected for this position.
• Medical exams may be required for job-related pre-placement.
