Piping Engineer

Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting a Piping Engineer in Oak Ridge, TN.
An active DOE Q Clearance is required to be considered for this position.

• The role of the Piping Engineer: provide CNS, Mission Engineering with full-time piping design engineering support for facility and production area activities in Cat 2 and Cat 3 facilities.
• Provide design output documentation to support minor facility modifications. The types of design output documents typically developed by a piping design engineer within the Mission Engineering organization include drawings, engineering instructions, data sheets, equipment specifications, equivalency evaluations, calculations, and related outputs.
• Must be able to perform pipe stress analysis. Experience with Auto Pipe is a plus but not required.
• Designs should be developed in accordance with ASME B31.3 and ASME B31.1, with familiarity and experience in applying these codes.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and plant organizations to produce timely design output.
• Experience in a NRC or DOE regulated environment is desirable.
• Understand Conduct of Engineering, Conduct of Operations, and Conduct of Maintenance for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment.
• Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with clients, production and support organizations, management, and hourly wage employees. Willingness to perform field walk-downs and work in a production environment.

Note: The following requirements apply to this role:

• Requires an ABET-accredited BS degree in a relevant Engineering discipline plus 10 or more years of relevant professional experience, or a MS degree in a relevant Engineering discipline plus 10 or more years of relevant professional experience.
• A Q clearance or the ability to obtain one is required.
• Due to the nature of government contract requirements and/or clearance requirements, US citizenship is required.
