Job Title: Mid to Senior Level Project Controls Specialist
Duration
: 12 months or more with possible extension(s).
Location: Oak Ridge, TN (MUST be onsite)
Summary:
Hukari Ascendent is seeking experienced Mid to Senior Level Project Controls Specialists. These positions will provide comprehensive project controls oversight and leadership for Department of Energy initiatives, working onsite at one of the nation's premier research facilities. The successful candidates will lead project planning, scheduling, cost management, earned value management, and performance analysis activities in accordance with DOE project management requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in project controls for mid-level; 8+ years for senior-level positions
- Demonstrated working knowledge and application of DOE Order 413.3B (Program and Project Management for the Acquisition of Capital Assets)
- Extensive experience with project scheduling using Primavera P6 or equivalent software
- Strong background in Earned Value Management System (EVMS) implementation and analysis
- Proven experience in cost estimating, budget development, and financial analysis
- Ability to lead project controls activities and mentor junior staff
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Superior written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to senior management
- Ability to obtain and maintain DOE security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience supporting large-scale DOE or federal government projects
- Professional certification (PMI-SP, EVP, PMP, or equivalent)
- Experience with DOE capital asset projects and Critical Decision (CD) process
- Knowledge of additional DOE Orders, federal acquisition regulations, and compliance requirements
- Experience with risk management and contingency analysis
- Familiarity with construction project controls
- Advanced proficiency with project controls tools and reporting systems
- Master's degree in related field
- Experience in nuclear or research facility environments
- Demonstrated leadership in developing project control procedures and best practices
