Engineering Supervisor
Full-time, salaried position, exempt under FLSA.

General Responsibilities- Prepare plans, designs, and specifications for construction of public works projects.
- Perform and oversee inspection of construction for sidewalks, street improvements, pavements, sewers, water mains, and other public works facilities.
- Develop and maintain standards and procedures regarding the Engineering Division.
- Perform and oversee the drawing of public plans for construction projects.
- Review construction plans for commercial and residential developments.
- Issue public utility right of way permits after reviewing plans.
- Perform project feasibility studies.
- Address general inquiries and complaints from citizens and developers.
- Work with government partners such as MDOT, RCOC, EGLE, and neighboring communities.
- Supervise Engineering Division staff.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget for the Engineering Division.
- Oversee the work of consultants on engineering projects.
- Perform grant administration for a variety of infrastructure-based grants.
- Present engineering projects to the City Council and the public.
- AutoCAD and Arc Map experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to manage and interact effectively with other employees.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with City Council, supervisors, and the public.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
- A minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Civil Engineer.
- Certification of a State of Michigan S-1 water distribution license within two (2) years of appointment.
Must be available on-call for questions as needed.
Salary RangeFull-time position with benefits and a salary of $74,000.00-$90,000.00 annually.
