Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR tech) for a 13-week travel assignment in Oak Park, Illinois. You will be part of a team that supports patient care in a fast-paced interventional lab environment, with competitive pay and benefits.
Required Qualifications- One year’s recent experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
- Valid ARRT, or RCIS/RCES Certification in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)
- Valid Radiologic Technologist license in compliance with state regulations
- PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification
- Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
Roles and Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patients for interventional radiology procedures, ensuring comfort and safety
- Operate imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy, CT, and ultrasound, to guide procedures
- Scrub in for sterile procedures, pass instruments, and maintain a sterile field
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and procedural details
- Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions
- Ensure proper radiation safety measures for patients, staff, and self
- Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment to ensure readiness
- Manage and restock procedural supplies
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other team members to provide seamless patient care
- Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory protocols
- Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned to support IR lab operations
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols and regulatory standards
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Proficiency in following written and verbal instructions; basic PC skills
- Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment, push/pull, and bend
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of personnel and maintain professionalism
- Technical/motor skills for procedures and equipment use
- Mental agility to handle deadlines and variable schedules; able to work with or without supervision
- Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication

Job . Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
