Overview
As a First LEGO League (FLL) Coach at Snapology of Chicago, you will guide and mentor children in the FLL Robotics program. Your primary responsibility is to lead and facilitate a team of students, fostering creativity, problem-solving, and a passion for STEAM education. You will prepare the team for regional and national competitions, promoting teamwork and collaboration among students.
Responsibilities- Team Leadership:
Lead and manage a group of FLL participants, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture. Provide mentorship, encouragement, and guidance to help students excel in the program. - Facilitation of Robotics Projects:
Oversee the team’s progress in designing, building, and programming their robot for the FLL challenges. Encourage innovative thinking and help students develop effective solutions. - Curriculum Implementation:
Follow the FLL curriculum and ensure that the team understands the program’s core values, rules, and guidelines. Facilitate discussions and activities related to the FLL theme and project. - Time Management:
Manage the team’s schedule effectively, ensuring that they stay on track with the competition timeline and meet important milestones. - Communication:
Maintain open and clear communication with team members, parents, and Snapology of Chicago staff. Provide regular updates on the team’s progress and address any concerns or challenges that may arise. - Support and Motivation:
Encourage teamwork and collaboration among team members. Recognize and celebrate individual and team achievements, promoting a positive and supportive learning environment.
- At least one year of prior experience coaching or mentoring students in robotics, engineering, or STEAM-related activities.
- Knowledge of the First Lego League program and competition rules.
- Strong passion for STEAM education and inspiring young learners to explore and excel in these fields.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Proven problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, with a focus on fostering creative thinking in students.
- Flexible, patient, and supportive, with the ability to adapt to the needs and learning styles of diverse learners.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.50-$25 per hour
Expected hours: 4 – 6 per week

Part-time positions are common, typically 2-10 hours per week. Additional hours may be available with flexibility.
Training is provided. Requirements include a positive attitude, flexible schedule, current criminal and child clearances, and experience with children.
Love to teach kids. This role provides hands-on experiences and opportunities to help children come up with new ideas and innovations.
