Responsibilities
  • As a Medical Assistant, you are directly involved in ensuring that we deliver patient-focused orthopedic care. You greet patients and triage them upon arrival.
  • You prepare patients to see the physician by obtaining histories, vital signs, and weight/height measurements.
  • You assist clinicians with examinations, procedures, and treatments and are a calming presence for patients.
  • When patients are finished, you review the care plan with them to ensure they understand before leaving the clinic.
  • You maintain examination and procedure rooms, ensuring they are orderly, set up, and ready for each new patient.
  • You are responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • You can handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and procedures, managing documents such as pre-authorizations, medical records, and test results, and responding to patient phone messages in a timely manner.
  • Your attention to detail ensures everything is properly documented in our computer system.
  • This is a fast-paced environment that benefits from a positive attitude and adaptability.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program (certification is a plus)
  • CPR certification or willing to attain upon hire
  • Casting a plus
  • DME experience a plus
  • Previous experience in an orthopedics setting is preferred, but not required
  • Experience in Electronic Medical Records system would be a plus
