Accounting and Finance Recruiter @ The Bolton Group | Market Knowledge, Client and Candidate Management. |We are partnering with a growing trucking and logistics company seeking an experienced Controller to lead their finance and accounting functions. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, operationally focused organization where your insights will directly impact profitability and growth.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee all accounting functions: general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow to support operations.
- Manage bank relationship.
- Provide actionable financial insights to leadership to improve profitability.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal controls.
- Partner with operations to analyze cost structures and optimize performance.
- Lead and develop a small finance/accounting team.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- 7+ years of accounting/finance experience, including leadership experience.
- Experience in trucking, transportation, logistics, or distribution preferred.
- Strong GAAP knowledge, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
- Proficient in accounting software (ERP, Quick Books, Sage) and Excel.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
