Whidbey Island Pay Range: $17.13 or more DOE

Sells fine jewelry and watches to customers using salesmanship and in‑depth knowledge of the quality and workmanship of gold, platinum, silver, precious and semi‑precious stones.

As a sales associate you will be the face of our company, highlighting our brand and image and contributing to building our reputation as a customer‑focused retailer. You will directly assist customers, helping them recognize the need for our products and services. You must be capable of learning about what we sell and articulating our purpose in an educational, insightful and professional manner, with a positive and outgoing nature.

• Proactively engage and make a connection with customers.
• Ask questions and listen to customers’ needs.
• Direct customers to merchandise; inform them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers and the STAR card.
• Cooperate and build positive, inclusive and respectful relationships; take accountability for your own actions and outcomes.

• Maintain store appearance.

• Cross‑sell products and know the layout of the store.
• Make suggestions to customers on the latest trends and current promotions based on their individual needs.
• Upsell products.
• Learn product features; keep up with the latest trends; leverage company tools and technology to confidently provide the customer with product knowledge and specifications.
• Use a point‑of‑sales system to process cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards and debit cards (cash handling), including counting money and returning accurate amounts to customers.
• Complete various forms of paperwork, reports, and reconciliation.

• Be the keeper of merchandise, complete all inventory processes and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed. (May participate in periodic inventories)

• Adhere to the assigned work schedule. Complete work assignments accurately and on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Basic knowledge of products/merchandise.
• Retail experience preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
• Basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to multi‑task, remain attentive to customers, and be flexible to business needs. Work well as part of a team and take initiative independently of direct supervision.
• Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic desire to provide outstanding service.

This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing and standing for at least two consecutive hours. It may occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Involves lifting at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. in some departments. Work is typically performed indoors but may be assigned outdoors depending on location.

Available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
