This is where you fit in: NHG is in need of a Maintenance Worker to support our local Naval community and operational success on a day-to-day basis. You will perform a variety of tasks involving the upkeep and repair of the Lodge facility, making an impact in serving Military patrons and their families.
Responsibilities- Conducts preventative maintenance and takes periodic inventory of maintenance stock and equipment.
- Performs general carpentry, painting, plumbing tasks and electrical work involved in the alteration, repair and maintenance of buildings or equipment.
- Follows all local safety regulations. Informs supervisor of hazardous conditions.
- Operates motor vehicle in the performance of the duties.
- Must possess three years Specialized Experience of maintenance work involving painting, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs.
- The knowledge and skills necessary to perform job duties.
- Is required to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, climb and work in tiring or uncomfortable positions.
- Frequently lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Will be required to work both indoors and outdoors.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license and pass a pre-employment criminal and motor vehicle background check.
- Haz Mat training required within 90 days of hire per Department of Transportation regulations.

One year of experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of general maintenance practices involving upkeep of buildings, grounds, fixtures, equipment, etc.
Substitution of Education for ExperienceOne year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of general experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for one year of general experience.
Specialized ExperienceThree years of maintenance work involving painting, plumbing, carpentry and electrical repairs.
Physical RequirementsStanding, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries material weighing up to 50 pounds.
