The Solina R&D Team is a dynamic group of problem solvers and flavor innovators. To be a fit for this team, you should be a person who thinks outside the box and a self-starter. The team is dedicated to supporting one another with a great teamwork mentality.
The main responsibility is to provide samples to Solina’s Food service, Retail, and Industrial customers. The incumbent will be responsible for managing incoming raw material from the plant, blending (seasoning, sauce and dressings) and shipping of samples and documentation of activities. Also to provide support with general cleaning duties in the lab.
Essential Functions- This document in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying the position.
- Follows all blending procedures (this to include dry seasoning, sauce and dressings) for fulfilling sample requests for internal and external customers including the recording of lot numbers.
- Follows procedures to assure a clean, safe and organized R&D lab.
- Maintains raw material ingredient/ packaging supply for the lab by ordering ingredients from the plant and documenting the material lot numbers for traceability.
- Maintains cleanliness of the sample department lab, and cleans equipment as required.
- Maintains labeling, storage and handling of raw materials for allergen compliance in the lab.
- Responsible for cleaning the refrigerators and freezers
- Provides support for the analytical testing results and providing information to the technologist.
- Maintains Other Records For Internal Needs As Required.
- Processes shipping/receiving paperwork online for Fed Ex, or UPS shipments, including tracking of shipments to support the lab.
- Calibrates equipment and instruments.
- Dishes including, washing, sanitizing, drying and storing them.
- Other duties as assigned by the direct manager.
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered. Typical qualifications would be:

- Desiccator
- Moisture oven
- Blenders
- Colloid Mill
- Lightning Mixer
- Viscometer
- Brookfield Viscometer
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with no assistance.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Ability to plan, organizes, prioritize, and achieve effective time management.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
- Sense of urgency & ability to meet deadlines; self-directed, effective communication skills.
