Mechanical Engineer (FANUC Integration) – Custom Robotics & Tooling
This full‑time, permanent Mechanical Engineer (FANUC Integration) – Custom Robotics & Tooling career opportunity is with a premier, custom robotic system integrator. Unlike large corporations where you are restricted to a single niche, this company views its employees as partners and invests heavily in your total professional development; offering cross‑training in mechanical, electrical, and advanced controls at no cost to you.
With sales estimated to double this year, the environment is dynamic and growth‑oriented, yet maintains a stable, employee‑first culture that has never had a layoff. You will work on 5‑8 unique, non‑repetitive custom projects per year, ensuring your work remains challenging and your skills stay at the top of the market.
- Lead the mechanical design of custom robotic systems from concept to completion, including EOAT, robot risers, guarding, escapements, and complete system layouts in Solid Works.
- Conduct critical reach and payload studies to determine the correct robot sizing and placement, ensuring all cable solutions and end‑effector mounting requirements are met.
- Engineer comprehensive pneumatic systems, including valve and manifold selection, filter/regulator sizing, and the creation of detailed pneumatic schematics.
- Produce high‑detail manufacturing packages featuring BOMs, weldment callouts, sheet‑metal drawings with appropriate tolerances, and assembly/installation documents.
- Drive project success through cross‑functional leadership, managing vendor negotiations, leading customer kickoff meetings, and conducting internal design reviews with electrical and shop teams.
- 3+ years of experience in an automation/systems integrator environment with a focus on robotics (FANUC knowledge is highly preferred).
- Mastery of Solid Works with the ability to create complex assembly drawings, weldments, and system layouts.
- Strong background in pneumatic design and mechanical component selection, including sensors (photo‑eyes, proximity switches, etc.).
- A “Project Manager” mindset—possessing the confidence to lead design reviews and the desire to see a project through from sales concept to shop‑floor handoff.
- Solid work history with a track record of stability and professional growth.
- U.S. citizen or Green Card holder with a residence within a 45‑minute drive of Oak Creek, WI.
- 3+ years of Solid Works mastery will drive our robotics integration projects – required for this position.
- End of Arm Tooling (EOAT) design, robot risers, and reach studies (FANUC preferred) – also required.
- Pay ranges up to $120,000 based on experience.
- Superior flexible hours; choose your start time (6:00 AM, 7:00 AM, or 8:00 AM).
- No remote; onsite location is Oak Creek, WI with minimal travel (~10 %).
- Full‑time, permanent W‑2 employee with benefits and profit sharing.
