Radiologic Technologist Float – Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush

MOR doctors are the official team physicians for the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bulls, Chicago Fire Soccer Club and DePaul University Athletics.
The Radiologic Technologist Float will report to the Manager of Radiology and travel to multiple outpatient clinics across Illinois and Indiana. The position requires Monday‑through‑Friday schedule with no weekends or holidays. The role offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and take x‑rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.
- Maintain working knowledge in the use of PACS, DR and CR radiologic equipment.
- Use C‑Arm where appropriate.
- Prepare medications for and assist the physician with fluoroscopic procedures.
- Maintain radiology rooms and keep necessary medical and radiologic supplies stocked.
- Position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified body areas requested by the physician.
- Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.
- Move imaging equipment into specified position, determine exposure factors based on height, weight, portion of body involved, and degree of penetration required, and adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.
- Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
- Perform specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
- Assist physicians in fluoroscopic and special x‑ray examinations, measure and prepare medication and contrast media.
- Process images and review for proper identification and quality control.
- Prepare images for reading by the requesting physician.
- Notify the Radiology Manager regarding malfunctions and repairs as needed.
- Properly use EHR to enter CPT codes for billing purposes.
- Travel to other clinics as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited X‑Ray Technologist Program.
- ARRT certification is required.
- IEMA certification is required.
Pay Range: $32.00 – $38.00 per hour.
