Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Oak Brook, Illinois. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in corporate tax, accounting, and real estate finance. You will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.

- Manage sales tax filings and address related inquiries or issues.

- Record and reconcile journal entries while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger.

- Analyze financial data related to commercial real estate investments and transactions.

- Collaborate with teams to oversee accounting operations within the real estate industry.

- Utilize Yardi software to manage property-related financial records and reporting.

- Conduct in-depth reviews of corporate real estate financial statements.

- Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation required for audits.

- Monitor and ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards and practices.

- Provide support in tax planning and strategy development for corporate entities.

The salary range for this position is $25 to $35 per hour. Benefits available to contract/contract professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.

- Proficiency in corporate tax, including preparation and filing of tax returns.

- Strong knowledge of sales tax regulations and compliance.

- Experience with journal entries and general ledger maintenance.

- Familiarity with commercial real estate and investment accounting.

- Hands-on experience with Yardi software is highly preferred.

- Solid understanding of the real estate industry's financial processes.

- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
